The Government has established an office within the Office of the Ombudsmen for investigating complaints about Tertiary Education providers and this option is open to ITP students if the students are unable to resolve the complaint at the ITP.
The Office of the Ombudsmen may investigate where students may have been treated unfairly at an ITP. Information about the powers and responsibilities of the Office is available as follows:

The Complaints process
Before making a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsmen, students should try to resolve it using the complaints process of the ITP. Information about this process will be in the student handbook or in the ITP’s website. The Ombudsman may decide not to investigate unless the student has attempted to do this first.
If students are not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint by the ITP they may make a complaint directly to the Office of the Ombudsmen by letter, fax or email or by using the online complain form available on the website. Students may also phone the Office for assistance from the tertiary education investigating staff.
This complaints procedure is usually open to students that have been treated unfairly. If the complaint is about the quality of the programme then it may be more appropriate to contact ITP Quality. See Complaints Procedure.
